The well proven and reliable body-jet速 uses the gentle power of water for body contouring. Unlike conventional liposuction methods, during the water-jet assisted liposuction (WAL) and the water-jet assisted fat transfer, the fat is gently detached from the tissue structure by means of a flat, fan-shaped water-jet and may be aspirated at the same time. The surrounding connective tissue, nerves and blood vessels remain much less traumatised. Using the body-jet速, liposuction is performed in a safe, effective and easy way.

The WAL allows for excellent aesthetic results, the risks remain minimal and the healing process is fast.

Techniques

The innovative principle of the water-jet assisted method is based on using the gentle power of the water-jet in an intelligent manner.

The innovations of water-jet technology
  • The low mechanical force effect during liposuction, due to a moderate suction and the selective power of the water-jet, allows for a much easier handling of the cannula. In turn making it more comfortable for both the surgeon and the patient.
  • The precise and tissue-sparing detachment of fat cells from the tissue structure minimizes the patient’s pain, swelling, reduces the risk of a hematoma and shortens the convalescent period.
  • The simultaneous irrigation and aspiration, coupled with the smaller volume of tumescent fluid used (approx. 70% less tumescent fluid used for pre infiltration) reduces the stress on the tissue.
  • The use of a centrifuge, or other fat processing procedures, are not necessary which results in time-saving and a better vitality of the fat cells.
  • The smooth and passive mixture of the fat collected in the container improves the consistency of the fat removed from different body areas (e.g. from abdomen and thighs).
  • Easy and direct extraction of the untreated fat cells from the container

Our cannulas enhance the innovative use of the water-jet. They represent one component of the sterile and closed liposuction and fat harvesting system designed in our research and development department.

Our cannulas allow gentle detaching of the fat cells from the tissue whilst simultaneously aspirating them. This saves time and protects the aspirated fat cells. Furthermore, the pressure of the fine, fan-shaped water-jet can be adjusted to the different connective tissue structures. As a result, the surrounding subcutaneous adipose tissue, as well as nerves and blood vessels, remain much less traumatised.

Besides the advantage of a particularly sparing and almost pain-free liposuction, much more vital adipose tissue can be harvested using the water jet-assisted method. The higher the quality and the more vital the harvested adipose tissue is, the greater are the chances that the injected fat cells adhere after autologous fat transfer.

Likewise, we significantly improved the collection and processing of the body’s own fat for autologous fat transfer. The harvested fat is gently separated from the remaining fluid in our LipoCollector® or FillerCollector® and can be immediately used for fat transfer.

The gentle and selective power of the water-jet during liposuction

Unlike conventional liposuction procedures, during the water-jet assisted liposuction (WAL) the fat is detached from the tissue structure with much less force, reducing the risk of side effects significantly. The surrounding connective tissue, as well as nerves and blood vessels, remain much less traumatised. As to the pre-infiltration, the WAL method also clearly differs from common liposuction procedures. In conventional procedures, the subcutaneous adipose tissue is filled with a large volume of tumescent fluid in order to prepare the operation. As a result, the body contours become blurred; the body looks swollen. This is not the case with the water-jet assisted liposuction. In this procedure, far less tumescent fluid (approx. 70% less) is introduced into the body before operation. Due to simultaneous irrigation and aspiration of the fat cells, you as a physician have direct control over the body’s contours and the amount of fluid introduced and aspirated throughout the whole operation. As a result, the adverse effects of the tumescent fluid during the procedure can be avoided. Using the water-jet, hematomas and injuries to the sensitive nerves located directly beneath the skin occur far less frequently. The majority of tissue strands beneath the skin, which are important for skin tightening, remain intact.

Since the connective tissue under the armpits is firmer than in other body areas, the precise force of the water-jet is particularly recommended for this treatment.

LIPO-TRANSFER

*Improved fat harvesting and processing*

Various techniques of fat harvesting and processing have been developed over the last decades. In particular, harvesting and processing fat cells for autologous fat transfer was often a complicated and time-consuming procedure.

We have learnt from the mistakes our competitors previously made in adipose tissue harvesting, processing and re-injection into the body. Our aim is to harvest, process and re-inject the body’s own fat in the most gentle way in order to achieve predictable, reliable and lasting results.

*Gentle fat harvesting*

Above all mechanical stress, a high vacuum and the ongoing exposure to anesthetic must be avoided in order to harvest undamaged fat cells.

Using the water-jet assisted liposuction method, micro fat droplets of high quality can be harvested. Likewise, adverse effects caused by exposure of the fat to the tumescent fluid and unnecessary handling are reduced.

Thanks to the gentle power of the water-jet, the fat cells are detached in a gentle way from the tissue structure. The pressure of the fine, fan-shaped water-jet can be adjusted to suit the different connective tissue structures. The small fat cell clusters are selectively flushed out of the subcutaneous tissue and aspirated at the same time – at a clearly lower vacuum level than usual.

Likewise, the small volume of tumescent fluid used during water-jet assisted liposuction has a minimal affect on the tissue so that the fat cells remain much less traumatized. They remain intact, unstressed and as a result vital fat cells can be aspirated.

*Gentle processing without centrifugation*

During water-jet assisted liposuction the aspirated fat is filtered and collected in a sterile closed system.

The aspirated adipose tissue and the irrigation fluid are immediately separated under vacuum conditions by the physical phenomena of buoyancy and gravity. This makes the need of centrifuge or any other additional treatment of the fat prior to transfer superfluous.

The liquid content of the adipose tissue harvested in this manner is about 20 to 25%. This facilitates the distribution of the grafted fat in the host tissue, for example in the breast or in the face.

*Lipo-transfer: direct and efficient*

The survival of the grafted fat cells depends on being connected to the blood vessel system as fast as possible. Therefore, only small amounts of fat are injected in thin multiple layers. This ensures that the injected fat will be optimally surrounded and supplied by the blood vessels.

If too many fat cells are grafted, they die before they can be supplied. The gentle water-jet assisted procedure significantly improves the chance of survival of the fat cells after grafting.

Breast augmentation using autologous fat

For patients who look for a natural method and don’t wish to have synthetic materials in their body.

When using the WAL method, approx. 90% of the aspirated fat cells are preserved (high cell vitality), nearly 76 ± 11% of the aspirated fat cells permanently adhere to the breast area (click here to our studies). Thanks to the water-jet assisted method, complications like oil cysts or fat cell calcifications occurring after previous autologous fat transfer procedures can be largely avoided. Even a small breast can be augmented with autologous fat in a natural way – with the bonus of body contouring by removal of so-called “diet or exercise-resistant” fat deposits.

Correction of asymmetrical breasts

Natural option to add volume in order to balance differences in breast size and shape in a gentle way. The volume of autologous fat to be injected, as well as the breast shape, can be adjusted to the personal wishes and sizes of your patients.

Breast reconstruction

Breast reconstruction with autologous fat is a more convenient alternative for patients who wish for a more natural method rather than a synthetic material in their body. The advantages of the water-jet assisted method are a natural-looking breast, a long-lasting result and the use of autologous fat tissue. The breast, reconstructed with autologous adipose tissue, behaves like the patients own body; it remains elastic and flexible. There is no need to fear rejection by the body.

Salvage procedure after capsular fibrosis

For patients who have a problem after a breast augmentation with implants, as for example a ruptured implant or a capsular fibrosis. The implant is removed and the affected breast is filled with body’s own fat tissue.

Complementary treatment after breast augmentation with silicone cushions to conceal implants that become apparent under the breast skin.

Body’s own fat helps to rejuvenate the skin. Retracted (caved effect on the skin) scars can be evened out to the normal skin level by injection of body’s own fat. Even hard or keloid scaring become softer by the injection of body’s own fat. This helps to improve the appearance of scars because the stem cells contained in the fat have a rejuvenating effect on the skin.

Anti-aging – wrinkle smoothing of the face, the décolleté and the hands

To compensate the volume loss of the face, the décolleté and the hands. The body’s own fat can be used for treatment of the glabellar, nasolabial folds and the mental creases or wrinkles around the eyelids. The re-injected patient’s own fat replaces lost subcutaneous adipose tissue and smoothes wrinkles and scars. In particular, nasolabial folds and peri-oral wrinkles, primarily caused by fat loss in the cheek area, can be permanently corrected by means of autologous fat transfer.

HYDRODISSECTION

The hydrodissection technique with AquaLift and hyperhidrosis as examples With hydrodissection (water-jet assisted dissection) the soft tissue is separated or removed using the gentle force of the water-jet. The water-jet assisted preparation method ensures high tissue selectivity with efficient dissection associated with minimal collateral damage. *Hydrodissection with facelifts = AquaLift* Facelifts carried out using hydrodissection (AquaLift) are a particularly gentle version of SMAS lifting in which water-jet assisted preparation (hydrodissection) is used. The SMAS lift (superficial musculoaponeurotic system), in which the connective tissue and muscular structures are lifted and repositioned in a very natural way, is supplemented by the hydrodissection technique. This particularly gentle method, which is called AquaLift and was developed by Dr Tork, includes the preparation of anatomical structures using water-jet assisted dissection (using the body-jet® or body-jet® evo). The AquaLift hydrodissection technique is not a new technique in principle but rather an extension of the SMAS lift concept to simplify one of the most important steps during the facelift: the dissection. The water-jet assisted preparation method ensures high tissue selectivity with efficient dissection associated with minimal collateral damage. The method improves the smoothing of nasolabial folds and the lifting and tightening of the chin line, for example. The result is a more alert, livelier expression for the eyes and a completely natural appearance overall. Hydrodissection for hyperhidrosis

The sensory nerves are severed which simplifies the subsequent curettage of the sweat glands. Particularly because the connective tissue in the armpits is so firm, it is recommended to use the precise power of the water-jet.
